Our Story
Little Leapfrogs started out as a favor for a friend. But when word got out, there was a lot more interest than we expected!
We know that there are kids that want to try dance, but we, as parents and guardians, don't want the cost and commitment that is often required at a large studio. We don't want to spend a ton of money on dance lessons and costumes before even knowing if our child will enjoy it! And we found that we are not the only ones who feel this way.
With us, your child can come learn the basics of dance and experience their first year in a dance class for a lower monthly price. If they love it, they can move on to a bigger studio where they can continue to learn and thrive.
Due to the very specific mission of Little Leapfrogs, we only offer beginning classes, focusing on ballet, jazz, technique, flexibility, creative movement, and combinations. While we only have beginning classes, there is a class for each age group from 3-9 years old.
About the Owner
Miss Torri:
Little Leapfrogs was founded by Torri Adams. Torri started dancing with a clogging studio when she was just three years old. Her mom opened a dance studio in the basement of their home when Torri was about seven years old where she continued with clogging, jazz, and novelty.
Clogging is Torri's first love and probably still her favorite style of dancing, even though she doesn't get to do it very often anymore. Over the years, she expanded her dance education repertoire with jazz, ballet, tap, hip hop, and a little Michael Jackson.
After Torri graduated high school, she attended college, and found a nearby dance studio where she took lessons and taught. She continued dancing, teaching, and choreographing wherever she went.
One of her greatest opportunities was in 2004 when she spent four months in Bulgaria and was able to take private lesson with the Prima Ballerina, Maria Ilieva. Their friendship continues today.
Torri moved with her husband to Cedar City in 2012. They have two amazing, talented, and fun-loving sons and one angel daughter, who is watching over them from Heaven.
Torri and her family are heavily involved with Cedar Valley Community Theater, and she has been able to perform in and choreograph numerous musicals there. She has also been honored to be hired as choreographer for the Utah Shakespeare Festival's Playmakers.
Miss Aja:
Aja has a lifetime love of dance. As a child, she dances with BYU Creative Children's Dance program, and kept going through college. She majored in Modern Dance at BYU. Aja then went on to explore dance in New York City for fifteen years before calling Cedar City home in 2022.
Aja belives strongly in dance as an expression of self and can't wait to help Little Leapfrog's dancers find their own dance voices.
